PSL Ranch Hands

When the owners first laid eyes on this ranchland, “what a P.S.L”, rolled off the lips of one, hence the name PSL Ranch. Located in an isolated plat off a cattle lane near Menard Texas (the closest large city), this ranchland has been relatively untouched by human activity as it sits at the very end of the road – quite literally.  Not having modern conveniences, such as electricity and drinkable water until recently, this remote piece of God’s country was, and is, overrun with wildlife, cactus, mesquite trees, and live oak; providing the perfect get-a-way for dedicated campers.  It should also be noted that there is NO connectivity at PSL Ranch; no phone lines, no cell service, and no Internet.  This has been known to be the demise of several millennials.

Part of an open-range, hosting a herd of Angus cattle, PSL is a working ranch that provides recreational activities for daring campers and naturalists.  Located in the Texas Hill Country, our location is the favorite campgrounds for the Green Tree Campers of America (GTCA), where the majority of the "incidents" involving campers name Sally have occurred.

About Our Illustrator "Sketch"

For more information about Sketch, email: zakyb18@gmail.com, or contact the San Antonio Police Department for his files.

At the beginning of this project the authors decided that illustrations would enhance the information provided, as well as making it a more enjoyable read! In searching for the right individual to accomplish the chore of illustrating such an important document, we visited multiple businesses that said they were up to the task. After reviewing their quotes, we began looking for starving artists under some of the most prestigious overpasses between San Angelo and San Antonio, and that’s where we met Sketch; a local artist of questionable origin. Sketch was wearing tattered clothing and a hoodie, supporting a fake eye patch as he limped through the vehicles at a stoplight with a sign that read, "Will Sketch for Food". One of the authors noticed a high-quality drawing in a corner of his sign showing a young man in a straight jacket (obviously a self-portrait). Although his methods were questionable, he impressed PSL with his previous work, to include multiple portraits of people in different poses, some of whom were even aware of the fact they were drawn (though most were drawn encased in a window). After careful review, we immediately hired Sketch! Little is known about him since he usually delivered his sketches by leaving a portfolio of artwork near specified bus stops, but 57 Big Mac meals later (most were supersized – we spared no expense) our safety guide was adorned with his work!
